Are you passionate about global affairs, human rights, and social justice? Want to contribute to a youth-led collective shedding light on critical underreported issues? Spheres of Influence is currently recruiting for various volunteer positions. This is an ideal opportunity for students, recent graduates, and young professionals to gain a meaningful experience in the field of international relations and journalism. Please note that we are entirely volunteer-based and that applicants must be within the youth age range (typically 18–35), in alignment with our organization’s identity as youth-led.
People and Culture Coordinator
As the People and Culture Coordinator, you will be responsible for shaping and maintaining a collaborative and supportive organizational culture. You will lead recruitment and onboarding processes, conduct volunteer experience surveys, and plan professional development and team-building events for our diverse team of volunteers and contributors.

Social Media Assistant
We are seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Assistant to support our digital presence and help amplify underreported global affairs stories. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about journalism, storytelling, and digital engagement, and who wants hands-on experience contributing to a mission-driven, youth-led publication.
Responsibilities:
- Share and publish Spheres of Influence articles across social media platforms to keep audiences informed and engaged.
- Create engaging and relevant content for X, Facebook, Instagram (posts, stories, threads), and LinkedIn.
- Support the development and maintenance of the publication’s brand voice, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Engage with audiences by responding to comments, messages, and fostering thoughtful discussion.
- Assist in planning and implementing social media campaigns to promote events, special projects, and editorial series.
- Support newsletter promotion and content sharing across platforms when needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in journalism, global affairs, social justice, or media.
- Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts (personal, academic, or organizational).
- Proficiency with Canva for creating social media graphics.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and trends (X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Experience or interest in newsletters and digital audience engagement (e.g., Mailchimp, Campayn, or similar tools is an asset).
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate within a remote, global team.
