Maryam Elmanzalawy

Maryam was born in Giza, Egypt, and grew up in Cairo during her formative years until she moved to Vancouver in 2017 to study at UBC. After completing her B.A. in Political Science and History in 2022, Maryam started working full-time in Vancouver. Her general academic and writing interests lie in colonialism, neocolonialism, and decolonization in the Middle East and North Africa. Maryam loves coffee, and you can find her in local cafés daily. She also loves the serenity of the beach and the desert and finds comfort in them."
