Beth Hanley

Originally from Scotland, Beth is a PhD researcher and conference interpreter based in Belgium, specialising in climate and social justice. On completing her MA in interpreting and translation and MSc in interpreting at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, she moved to Brussels in 2022 to research gender-inclusive language use in conference interpreting at ULB. Beth’s main areas of interest include intersectionality, languages and cultures, international politics and sociolinguistics. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as running and hiking as well as singing, travelling and getting stuck into a podcast or good book.
